Man Utd ready bid for Christian Benteke

Manchester United are understood to have expressed interest in Aston Villa marksman Christian Benteke, according to reports.

Villa boss Tim Sherwood has recently hinted that the Belgian international could remain at Villa Park beyond the summer.

However, Birmingham Mail reports that United boss Louis van Gaal is confident of sealing a deal for the former Genk star, who has a release clause of £32m in his existing contract.

United have already signed the likes of Memphis Depay, Matteo Darmian, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin during the summer transfer window.
