Robert Pires wants Premier League star at Arsenal
Arsenal Legend Robert Pires has given his view on how the club should proceed in the winter transfer window.
The Gunners are highly expected to bring in a new central midfielder following long-term injuries to Santi Cazorla and Francis Coquelin.
While speaking to Kenyan reporters, Pires said that Victor Wanyama could turn into a world-class midfielder, if he can add more goals to his game.
He added that the Kenyan international could be the ideal signing for the Gunners in the future.
"I know Wanyama. He is a very good ambassador of Kenyan football and has done well in Southampton but I hope he signs for Arsenal in the future," Pires said.
"He has the speed, skill and physique. However, I think he needs to score more goals because then he will be world-class material."
North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur were strongly linked with the 24-year-old last summer.
