Spurs bid for Saul Niguez
Tottenham Hotspur are reported to have made a formal approach for Arsenal and Manchester United target Saul Niguez. The 21-year-old has been the subject of speculation in recent days after he rebuffed a contract extension at Atletico Madrid.
Niguez is understood to have attracted interest from top European sides through his impressive showing for Atleti over the past year.
Arsenal and Manchester United have been recently linked with moves for the young Spaniard, but according to Radio Marca, Mauricio Pochettino's are eager to beat their rivals to the player's services.
It is added that the North London giants are willing to offer wages in excess of £4m-per-season as they seek to lure one of Spain's most promising talents to White Hart Lane this summer.
Atleti are said to be reluctant to offload their prized asset unless any club matches the player's £35m release clause.
Niguez has had 18 league outings with his club this term.
