3rd Best Player In The World

For the best part of a decade Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have won every Ballon d'or, we've all known who the best 2 players are. The only debate has been who is the best between them.

The real debate is to who is the 3rd best player in the world. There has been a number of players to have had the accolade in the ballon d'or voting process over the last few years, world-class players like Xavi, Andres Iniesta, Frank Ribery and even a goalkeeper Manuel Neuer came 3rd in 2014.

Last years 3rd place however could be a significant one as none of the previous 3rd place winners have the threatened the big 2 for the number 1 slot. Neymar certainly is a player who at just 24 already has 70 caps for Brazil and has the potential to win the ballon d'or for many years to come however the current 3rd best player in the world is not Neymar. Nor is it Aguero, Bale , Di Maria, Ibrahimovic or Lewandowski. Its got to be Luis Suarez, a man who probably never win the ballon d'or largely due to some of his on the field antics like the handball at the world cup and the bite on Chiellini. But on current form it has to be him, at Liverpool he was sensational and almost won them the title.

Some people were worried about him moving to Barcelona and how he would fit in but somehow he has gone up another level and often not only outshines Neymar but sometimes Messi as well. When Barca have been in trouble recently it has been Suarez who has come up with the goods just like the champions league quarter final 1st leg against Atletico Madrid who would not be broken down until Suarez scored twice in just over 10 minutes to turn the tie into Barca's favour. Hopefully whilst he is still in the prime of his career he will get the votes this year.
