West Ham lodge Batshuayi bid

West Ham United are believed to have made a formal approach for Marseille striker Michy Batshuayi. The Belgian international is likely to leave the French outfit due to their ongoing financial problems.
Batshuayi has been the stand out performer for Les Phoceens, who have just about saved their pride in Ligue 1.
According to The Guardian, the Hammers have become the first club to make a move for the player after they tabled a record £31.5m offer for the his signature.
However, they are likely to face a transfer tussle with the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Roma and Juventus also keen on the young marksman.
The 22-year-old has netted 16 goals and nine assists in the French league this term.
