Spurs target Dennis Suarez
The 22-year-old former Manchester City trainee is wanted by Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino after glowing reports from head of recruitment Paul Mitchell, who has been tracking the attacking midfielder all season.
Spanish U21 international Suarez was sold to Villarreal last August by Barcelona, who had previously loaned him to Sevilla as part of the Ivan Rakitic transfer, as he failed to break into the Barca first team.
Suarez made 45 appearances in all competitions for the Europa League semi finalists and has had the best season of his career so far, Spurs who are known to favour buying young emerging players are said to be looking to strengthen their squad for a Champions League campaign next season.
Barcelona are said to have included a buy back clause in his sale to El Submarino Amarillo in the region of £2.3million and may activate this to then sell on to Spurs for a large profit in the summer.
Arsenal have also been linked with Suarez as they look to add to their midfield numbers despite the signing of Swiss Midfielder Granit Xhaka as they have lost Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini after letting their contracts expire.
