Arsenal ponder Rogic swoop

Arsenal are said to be pondering a move for Celtic midfielder Tom Rogic according to reports. Fresh from acquiring the services of Granit Xhaka, the North London club are keen on adding the 23 year old Australian to their midfield options next season.

A reported £7 million offer is likely to tempt Celtic to part company with the talented Rogic who has struggled to make a sustained impact at the Parkhead club since joining from Central Coast Mariners in 2013. Despite catching the eye with his goal of the season effort against Kilmarnock, Rogic has spent much of his time in the East End of Glasgow on the periphery. With new boss Brendan Rodgers tasked with streamlining the first team squad and raising funds for re-investment, Celtic are likely to view an offer in that region favourably.

Should a move to the Emirates materialise, he will face stiff competition for a first team spot as he seeks to make a similar impact in the English top-flight as fellow countrymen Harry Kewell and Tim Cahill previously. With a languid style, the two-footed Australian possesses raw ability and Arsene Wenger is likely to view Rogic as a project player who he can develop in the longer term.
