Chelsea target Nainggolan wants to stay at Roma

Nainggolan not agitating for Chelsea switch

As Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan has moved to pour cold water on rumours of a big-money move to Chelsea by insisting he is happy in the Italian capital.

Incoming Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is thought to be a long-time admirer of the combative Belgian player, and the Blues were expected to make a serious move to bring Nainggolan to Stamford Bridge this summer.

But Nainggolan insists he is in no rush to leave the Giallorossi. "Right now I’m concentrated here [Euro 2016], but I’m very happy where I am," the player explained to Sky.

"I’m not someone who changes team often. For now my focusis here, then we’ll see what happens."

So Nainggolan's words give the impression that, while he is not closing the door on a potential switch to the Premier League, he is perfectly content in his position with Roma.

Roma have already lost star midfielder Miralem Pjanic to champions Juventus this summer, as the Bianconeri swooped to sign the Bosnian dead ball specialist by meeting his contractual release clause of €32 million.

In light of Pjanic's departure, Roma will be particularly reticent to lose another one of their key midfielders, so any move away for Nainggolan will likely require a bumper offer from Conte's Chelsea
