Man Utd in for Andre Gomes

Manchester United are stepping up their chase for Portuguese midfielder Andre Gomes. The Valencia playmaker was recently the subject of a failed bid from Chelsea.

Italian publication Tuttosport claims that the Red Devils have shifted their focus to Gomes with Juventus reluctant to accept any price for Paul Pogba.

Pogba has been the priority target for new boss Jose Mourinho, but the Old Lady's decision to hold onto the France international has forced United to look at options elsewhere.

Los Che currently rate their asset in the region of £35m, and nothing below the figure will test the club's resolve.

Gomes, 22, has racked 77 appearances for the Mestalla outfit since his move from Benfica two years ago.
