Liverpool pursue Arsenal full-back
Liverpool are in negotiations with Arsenal to sign English defender Kieran Gibbs this summer. The 26-year-old was restricted to just three league starts last season with Arsene Wenger preferring Nacho Monreal for the left-back position.
The Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is looking to add a new left-sided defender to his ranks after Alberto Moreno failed to convince him of his abilities whilst Joe Gomez, and Jon Flanagan have yet to make a mark under the German coach.
Sources reveal the Merseyside giants have stepped up their interest in Gibbs with the Gunners seemingly open to cashing in on their graduate.
Gibbs is currently rated at around £8m, and his £60,000-a-week wages are well within the reach of the Anfield outfit.
The full-back has made over 200 appearances for the Gunners since his first-team debut in 2007.
