Man Utd attacker on Barcelona radar

Dutch winger Memphis Depay has emerged as surprise target for Barcelona in this summer's transfer window. The 22-year-old had a poor season for Manchester United following his £25m switch from PSV Eindhoven last year.

Spanish publication Don Balon says the Catalan giants could shift focus to the Netherlands international, should they fail in their pursuit of Atletico Madrid forward Luciano Vietto.

Vietto's representative is well aware of Barca's interest, but it is yet to known whether Atleti would cash in on their asset.

Luis Enrique's side have Depay as the second option, and a bid could be offing, should things not go as initially planned.

The Dutchman is rated in the £17m range, and United could sanction his sale given they have brought in the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan to bolster the forward ranks.

Depay largely misfired last term netting just two goals in the Premier League.
