Mourinho coy on Pogba deal
Manchester United manager José Mourinho was non-commital when questioned about his club's reported move to sign Paul Pogba.
The Portuguese tactician was asked to comment on the possibility of bringing Pogba back to Old Trafford, insisting that he will "neither confirm nor deny" the reports that have circulated around the European press over the last couple of days.
Mourinho did, however, offer his appraisal of the club's transfer business since he put pen to paper to become boss at Old Trafford. The 53-year-old said that he gave the board four primary targets, and they have completed 75 per cent of the acquisitions he requested, and that they are looking at three midfielders who "fit the profile of the club".
Mourinho was speaking at a press conference in China, where United are currently on a pre-season tour.
United have already completed the signings of Eric Bailly, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan this summer, and it is believed that the Red Devils are on the brink of sealing the capture of Pogba in a deal that will break the current transfer world record.
Pogba previously played for United, but left the club as a teenager in 2012, having grown frustrated at the lack of first team opportunities he was being afforded under then manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
But the 23-year-old Frenchman could be set to complete a staggering return to Old Trafford following four successful years in Turin.
