Bordeaux pursue permanent deal for Mathieu Debuchy
Bordeaux are seeking to secure a permanent contract for Arsenal defender Mathieu Debuchy. The 30-year-old right-back spent the second half of last season with the French outfit.
Debuchy played second fiddle to Hector Bellerin for much of the previous campaign, and was subsequently shipped to Bordeaux on loan in the New Year.
He followed to make just nine appearances for the Ligue 1 side before an injury ruled him out for the remainder of the campaign.
Sky Sports says Bordeaux have made a formal approach to the Gunners over a cut-price for the Frenchman.
Debuchy is eager to fight for his position at the Emirates, and it will be interesting to see how this story unfolds in the coming days.
The former Lille graduate has appeared in just 22 games for the Gunners since his move from Newcastle United in 2014.
