United set to complete Pogba signing

Manchester United's sensational swoop for Paul Pogba could finally be wrapped up before the weekend, according to reports in Italy.

Transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio reported last night that Manchester United and Juventus have come to an agreement over a transfer fee for French midfielder Paul Pogba, and a deal could be concluded within 48 hours.

The two clubs have also agreed on which party will be footing the bill for the player's agent, Mino Raiola, who is due a significant cut of the sum.

The news has also been picked up by a multitude of news outlets around the Continent, which would suggest that there is some validity to the claims.

The Red Devils are thought to have offered €110 million plus bonuses to Juventus, as well as agreeing to cover Raiola's fee.

Pogba is currently on holiday in Miami, but reports suggest that the player could take a medical in the USA.

New United manager José Mourinho identified Pogba as his primary target this summer. After already securing the captures of Eric Bailly from Villarreal, Zlatan Ibrahimovic on a free transfer, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Borussia Dortmund, the Portuguese coach has stated that, once his fourth signing is made, further signings will only be made if current squad members are sold first.

The deal to take Pogba to Old Trafford will break the current world record fee set by Gareth Bale's transfer to Real Madrid in 2013.
