Valencia set price for Arsenal target

Valencia are likely to demand a £20m fee for Shkodran Mustafi amid interest from Arsenal. The 25-year-old has emerged as a transfer target for the Gunners after Per Mertesacker was ruled out with a long-term injury.

Mustafi joined Los Che from Schalke 04 in 2014, and has since racked over 70 appearances in all competitions.

Cadena Cope says Los Che have placed a £20m price tag on the player's head with the Gunners interested in his signature.

Arsene Wenger's side will be without the services of Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny for the Premier League opener, and this has put the team in jeopardy.

Mertesacker has been sidelined for five months with a knee problem whilst Koscielny is on an extended break for his exploits with France at Euro 2016.

Mustafi was part of the German setup that went on to lift the World Cup in Brazil two years ago.
