Pedro wants Chelsea exit

The diminutive winger wants to go back to Spain

Spanish forward Pedro wants to leave Chelsea this summer, despite only joining the Blues a year ago, according to reports in Spain.

Spanish daily newspaper Sport is reporting that Pedro is unhappy in London and wants to return to Spain this summer.

Chelsea signed the World Cup winner from FC Barcelona last summer, in a deal worth £17 million.

The 29-year-old struggled to find his best form for most of last season, and is now ready to throw in the towel on his Premier League career.

Pedro joined Chelsea as Premier League champions, but the Stamford Bridge club were unable to mount any kind of title defence as they languished in the bottom half of the division for most of the season, before a late run of form saw them climb to tenth in the table.

The Tenerife born winger was a key player in new Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola’s hugely successful Barça side. The pair worked together during Guardiola’s time in charge of the Barcelona B team, and the Catalan tactician gave Pedro his senior debut during the 2008-09 campaign.

Pedro scored 99 goals during his time at the Camp Nou and moved to east London with a huge pedigree.

But the speedy forward has thus far failed to live up to expectations, and new Chelsea boss Antonio Conte may well be willing to listen to offers for the experienced player.
