Koeman rules out Phil Jagielka exit

Everton boss Ronald Koeman has confirmed that club-captain Phil Jagielka will not be leaving in this summer's transfer window. The England international has emerged as a target for Sunderland after Ashley Williams signed for the Merseyside outfit.
Recent speculation suggested that David Moyes could make a raid on his former club with Jagielka being his next defensive target.
However, Koeman has dashed the Black Cats' hopes of landing the 33-year-old after he confirmed that Jagielka would stay put at Goodison Park.
"We had to get a new defender and Ashley brings experience, leadership and he knows the Premier League," Koeman told reporters. "We don't have too many centre-backs. We need four so there is no way he can leave the club (Jagielka)."
Jagielka has appeared over 300 times for Everton since his arrival from Sheffield United nine seasons ago.
