Chelsea to up bid for Kalidou Koulibaly

Blues in take or leave offer for Koulibaly

Chelsea will make a last-ditch attempt to pursue the services of Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly this summer. Blues boss Antonio Conte is desperate to recruit a new centre-back before the transfer deadline.

According to The Sun, the Blues remain interested in the central defender despite having multiple offers rejected by Napoli for his signature.

John Terry and Gary Cahill remain the only reliable options in the heart of the defence whilst Kurt Zouma is on his recovery from a long-term injury.

The Blues will make a final bid of around £48m for Koulibaly as they seek to conclude their transfer business for the summer.

Koulibaly has previously highlighted his desire to leave Napoli after they declined an improved contract for his progress. He has has appeared in 81 games for the Naples outfit since his switch from Genk in 2014.
