Mario Mandzukic heading to Chelsea?
Mario Mandzukic has emerged as a surprise target for Chelsea in this summer's transfer window. The Croatian international is considering his future at Juventus with Gonzalo Higuain and Paulo Dybala preferred ahead of him for the centre-forward role.
The Blues were dealt a huge blow last week after former player Romelu Lukaku decided to stay put at Everton. Lukaku had earlier cited his desire to join a top European club, but seeing the transfer progress at Goodison Park, he has committed his future to the Merseyside outfit.
According to The People, Mandzukic is the latest player on the Blues' shortlist as Antonio Conte seeks to add an additional striker to his ranks this month.
The 30-year-old was expected to earn a regular role at Turin this term, but with the arrival of record signing Gonzalo Higuain has put his future into question.
Chelsea have spent intelligently this summer bringing in Michy Batshuayi (Striker), and N'Golo Kante(Midfielder) from Marseille and Leicester City respectively.
