Everton want Man Utd duo
Everton have reportedly enquired over the possibility of signing Manchester United duo Wayne Rooney and Morgan Schneiderlin in the winter transfer window.
According to The Star, manager Ronald Koeman is keen on pursuing the services of the Red Devils pair as he bids to bolster his squad further in the New Year.
Rooney has been in-and-out of the first-team at Old Trafford this term, and Koeman is hopeful of luring him to his boyhood club where he could play alongside Romelu Lukaku up front.
Meanwhile, Schneiderlin, who has previously worked under Koeman at Southampton, has been identified as a potential successor to Gareth Barry.
Barry, 35, is currently in the final year of his Everton contract, and talks over an extension are yet to commence.
Everton will look to jump above Manchester United in the Premier League table when they host them on Sunday's late kick-off.
