PSG rival Arsenal for Ricardo Rodriguez

French champions Paris Saint-Germain are prepared to fight it out with Arsenal for the signature of Wolfsburg left-back Ricardo Rodriguez.

The Swiss international has been a key player for the Bundesliga outfit over the years, and remains committed despite their poor league form this season.

According to Calciomercato, Les Parisiens are looking at the prospect of triggering the player's £21m release clause following a tough start to the league campaign.

The Ligue 1 holders are accustomed to cruising towards the French title, but they face stiff competition from the likes of Nice and AS Monaco this term.

Rodriguez, 24, is also a transfer target for Arsenal, whose manager Arsene Wenger is on the search for a long-term replacement for Nacho Monreal.

The left-back has notched two goals and as many assists for Wolfsburg this season.
