Everton set to sign Morgan Schneiderlin for £24m
Everton are reportedly in pole position to secure the services of Manchester United outcast Morgan Schneiderlin. The 27-year-old is among a long list of players who could leave Old Trafford in the New Year.
Schneiderlin has seen a downward spiral in his career this season with manager Jose Mourinho to make him a part of his first-team plans.
According to The Mail, the Toffees have become discussions with the Red Devils' hierarchy after Mourinho suggested that he would come in the way of the future of his fringe players.
Ronald Koeman is on the search for an additional midfielder, and he sees Schneiderlin as the perfect fit to replace veteran star Gareth Barry in the future.
Roma's Kevin Strootman was initially the preferred option for Everton before the Italian club began negotiations over an improved contract with the Dutchman.
