Man City to bid for Villarreal defender?
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is weighing up a January move for Villarreal centre back Mateo Musacchio. The Argentina international has been on the books at the "Yellow Submarines" since 2010.
Guardiola, desperate to bolster his defence in the January transfer window, has pinpointed the powerful centre back Musacchio as his primary transfer target. With the player rated at a valuation of around 24 million euros, City are ready to snap up the player as Guardiola considers adopting a three man central defence; linking Nicolas Otamendi, Vincent Kompany and Musacchio at the back. Last summer signing John Stones has struggled since his move to City and Guardiola is considering dropping the England international for a while to allow the defender time to restore his confidence. Meanwhile, Musacchio has reported told his agent that he wants to move to England in the future and that could be a possibility in the transfer window that will slam shut on January 31st. 20
