Agent reacts to Petr Cech's Arsenal situation
Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech is set to remain at the Emirates for the remainder of his current contract, agent Viktor Kolar claims.
The former Czech international had received immense criticism prior to last week following his average performances against both Watford and Chelsea in the Premier League.
Since then, speculation has linked with Cech with a potential move away from Arsenal with Joe Hart among others being linked with the number one role.
While speaking to reporters in the Czech Republic, Kolar insisted his client is satisfied with work in North London and is likely to stay put at the club for the remainder of his contract - due to expire in 2019.
“Petr's position at the club is very secure and a summer transfer can be ruled out," he said. “Petr will be part of Arsenal until at least the end of his current contract and I am convinced that he will continue to have a leadership role in the team."
Cech had been tipped to be dropped for the game against Hull City on Saturday, but it just did not happen as Arsene Wenger kept faith in the veteran.
The 34-year-old made a couple of notable saves to earn his side a much-needed victory ahead of a testing Champions League tie versus Bayern Munich in midweek.
