Jose Mourinho to hold showdown talks with Zlatan over future

Jose keen to extend Zlatan stay

Jose Mourinho will reportedly schedule a meeting with Zlatan Ibrahimovic later this week in order to resolve the Swede's future at Old Trafford.

The 35-year-old joined the Mancunian giants on a free transfer in the summer, and has since netted an impressive tally of 20 goals across all competitions.

Zlatan has remained coy when asked to comment on his plans for the summer, but Mourinho is still confident that the former Sweden international will prolong his stay at United.

"Jose and Zlatan are expected to sit down in the next few days to find out intentions on both sides. Jose is very confident he will stay for another year, but the interest from abroad is worrying the powers that be," a source close to United told The Sun.

The former Paris Saint-Germain star does have a 12-month extension on his present contract, but a possible move to Napoli is said to be at the top of the veteran's radar.

In spite of this, Manchester United will seek to recruit a world-class striker to their ranks in the summer with Atletico Madrid's Antoine Griezmann tipped to join in a £86m deal.
