Wayne Rooney to leave Man Utd this month

Manchester United are reportedly prepared to let go of skipper Wayne Rooney to China before the end of the month.

The Chinese Super League transfer window is due to close in 10 days' time, and the 31-year-old is said to be lining up a lucrative move to the Far East.

Rooney was tipped to pursue a move to Asian spenders earlier last month before Jose Mourinho highlighted that the England international would be sticking with the club for the campaign.

However, it now seems that the veteran striker is considering a move to China with his existing £300,000-a-week contract due to expire in less than 18 months' time.

According to The Telegraph, Rooney will probably end his 13-year association at Old Trafford this month with multiple Chinese clubs prepared to offer him wages of around £32m a year.

Rooney has had a tough time under Jose Mourinho this term and has played the full 90 minutes on just five occasions since September.
