Chelsea eye bid for ex-Liverpool target
Premier League leaders Chelsea have joined the chase to sign former Liverpool target and Borussia Dortmund midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud.
The German footballer, who has just 18 months left on his previous deal, has refused to agree terms over a contract extension.
Dahoud was constantly associated with a winter move away from Monchengladbach, but the club insisted that they would keep hold of his services for the season.
According to The Guardian, the Bundesliga are likely to be tempted to cash in on Dahoud in the summer with the 21-year-old reluctant to commit his future to the club.
Borussia Dortmund are said to have already finalized a £10m deal for the Syrian-born attacker, but the final decision will be left to the player, who has been in contact with Chelsea representatives.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp had held a keen interest in the youngster previously, but his performances this season do not seem to have impressed the former BvB boss.
Dahoud has notched a goal and two assists in the German league this term.
