Romelu Lukaku hints at Chelsea comeback?
Belgian international Romelu Lukaku has dropped a fresh hint that he could be off to a Champions League club at the end of the season. The Everton striker has netted 16 goals in the Premier League this term.
The 23-year-old has never hidden his ambition of playing Champions League football, and his latest tweet has given a hint that he could be off the Toffees' rank in the summer.
“UCL is where reputations are built… what a competition, what a game." a tweet read on his official twitter account.
Lukaku had been linked with the likes of Chelsea and Juventus last summer, but he opted to stick at Goodison Park after seeing progress in terms of transfer activity.
The Toffees are currently nine points away from a potential Champions League position, and their failure to reach the top-four could lure Lukaku to a bigger challenge elsewhere.
Lukaku is alleged to have a £80m buy-out clause in his contract, and Everton will most probably hold out for his maximum value in the summer.
