Kane Hat-Trick Helps Spurs Return To Winning Ways
After the disappointment of crashing out of the Europa League in midweek, Harry Kane fired home a twenty three minute hat-trick to help Tottenham return to winning ways at White Hart Lane, with a 4-0 victory over Stoke City.
In the more familiar surroundings of White Hart Lane, as opposed to Wembley where Spurs have been playing their European games this season, it took Harry Kane just fourteen minutes to open the scoring, by placing the ball smartly past Stoke goalkeeper Lee Grant. The England striker was on the scoresheet again shortly after when he hit a Christian Eriksen corner in to the back of the net with a half volley. Five minutes later Kane topped off his hat-trick when his effort took a huge deflection off former Spurs man Peter Crouch, which was enough to beat Grant again. This is yet another hat-trick for Kane, who has now scored three hat-tricks in nine games for Tottenham, contributing to his season total so far of twenty two, taking him past the twenty goal mark for the third successive season.
The scoring was completed before half time, when Dele Alli got on the end of a Harry Kane cross in stoppage time. In the second half, Stoke were slightly better and Spurs took their foot off the pedal, resulting in a final score of Tottenham Hotspur 4 Stoke City 0. This result moves Tottenham up to second in the league, ten points behind leaders Chelsea.
