Manchester United chief Ed Woodward has met up with agent Mino Raiola over a potential deal for Everton contract rebel Romelu Lukaku.

The Belgian footballer has refused to extend his terms at Goodison beyond 2019 as he bids to pursue his future at a bigger club capable of lifting silverware.

According to The Star, Woodward held discussions with Raiola, who was key to bring the likes of Paul Pogba, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Old Trafford last summer.

Lukaku has snubbed a fresh £130,000-a-week contract at Everton citing their lack of ambition, and he could tempt to join the Red Devils, who are on the rise under Jose Mourinho this season.

The former Chelsea man had been tempted to leave Merseyside at the start of the season but he was convinced to stay put after the club decided to go on a spending spree in the transfer market.

Everton boss Ronald Koeman has already insisted that the club will seek to keep hold regardless of his contract situation, but a fee of around £60m could be sufficient to convince the Toffees to do business.
