Ligue 1 duo top Arsenal summer shortlist
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has set his sights on signing French duo Alexandre Lacazette and Kylian Mbappe as he seeks to do a rebuilding job at the Emirates next season.
The Frenchman had been initially tipped to leave the Gunners at the end of the current campaign, but it is now understood that he will stay for at least one more season.
A report from The Mirror says the 67-year-old has already lined up his transfer options for the summer with Lyon's Lacazette and Monaco's Mbappe leading the shortlist.
The Gunners have lacked the presence of a potent goalscorer other than Alexis Sanchez and Wenger is willing to put it straight with a move for a couple of recruits.
Lacazette, who has been linked with the north London club in the previous two seasons, is expecting to join a fresh club abroad in the summer.
On the other hand, Wenger's team are focused on signing teenage sensation Mbappe having also missed out on his signature during the previous summer transfer window.
It is further added that the potential arrival of Lacazette and Mbappe could coincide with the exits of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, who both have just 14 months left on their existing deals.
