Arsenal poised to move for Everton star
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has listed Everton's Idrissa Gueye as one among his prime targets for the summer transfer window.
The French manager is yet to pen a contract extension beyond the current season, but it is predictable that he will stay, having already identified his options in the transfer market.
According to The Mirror, Wenger will seek to add more steel in front of his backline this summer after he admitted that there are still flaws in the defensive areas.
Both Granit Xhaka and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have impressed in central midfield in recent games, but Wenger is still on the search for the perfect player, who could handle the pressure of the big games.
The Mirror suggests that Wenger will lodge an attempt to sign Gueye in the summer as he sees him in the mould of Chelsea superstar N'Golo Kante.
Gueye currently has a contract at Goodison until 2020 having only arrived from Aston Villa last summer, and Everton will be in no rush to do business unless Arsenal table a fee in excess of £26m.
