West Ham United will reportedly battle it out with the likes of Everton and West Bromwich Albion in the pursuit of Manchester City striker Wilfried Bony.

The Ivory Coast international is currently on a season-long loan at Stoke City where he has surprisingly failed to even make the bench in recent games.

The Sun reports that the Hammers will be in a three-way battle alongside Everton and West Bromwich Albion as they seek to add a top-class marksman to their ranks this summer.

Slaven Bilic's side failed to lure Carlos Bacca from AC Milan during the previous summer transfer window and were ultimately forced to adjust with loanee Simone Zaza, who failed to hit the ground running.

Juventus' Zaza has since moved on to Valencia on a temporary spell, where he has managed to find the net two times in 11 outings.

Bony has not had the best of seasons under Mark Hughes this campaign, but the Hammers are still aware of his goalscoring exploits which could enhance the club's overall strength.

Andy Carroll had led the line for West Ham United in recent games, but his fitness is still a concern when offered a continuous run in the starting lineup.
