Chelsea go to Portsmouth aiming to set a new club record of 10 straight victories in all competitions, but the arrival of Jermain Defoe making his debut will give Pompey an enormous boost as they hope to pick up an important home win.

Sylvain Distin (hamstring) is almost certain to miss out, while Frank Lampard may make the bench. John Terry, Shevchenko remain out and Carvalho is serving a ban.
