Liverpool place hefty price tag on Daniel Sturridge
England international Daniel Sturridge could find himself at Liverpool for at least another season after Liverpool placed a £40m valuation on his head.
The 27-year-old has had a series of niggles over the course of the campaign, and this has affected his chances of earning a regular run under Jurgen Klopp this term.
According to The Mail, the former Chelsea ace will not have an easy escape route from Anfield with the club holding out for a £40m sum for his sale.
Premier League rivals West Ham United are understood to be interested in Sturridge, but the asking price could still be a stumbling block given his injury record in the past few seasons.
Slaven Bilic's side are already having to contend with the regular fitness issues of both Andy Carroll and Diafra Sakho, and they would not want to spend a hefty fee on a striker, who is on a similar injury path.
Sturridge has made just 41 league appearances for Liverpool following the 2013-14 season, where he was at his best with 21 goals in a title-chasing campaign.
