Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly keen on pushing through a move for Marco Reus when the transfer window reopens in a couple of months' time.

The Germany international is regarded as one of the most promising attackers in the Bundesliga, but injuries have hindered his progress over the years.

Reus has endured yet another injury-hit spell with BvB this term, but he has nevertheless managed to contribute 11 goals and six assists in 22 games for his club.

Spanish outlet Don Balon suggests that Mourinho has requested the signing of Reus despite the club being linked with the likes of Andrea Belotti and Antoine Griezmann in recent weeks.

United captain Wayne Rooney has failed to prove his credentials over the course of the campaign, and he could make way in order to facilitate the arrival of Reus.

The 27-year-old currently has two years left on his present deal, and this could potentially urge BvB to cash in on his services with Atletico Madrid also interested in the attacker.

Reus has missed the last two major tournaments for Germany, and he will hoping to have an injury free season next term in order to cement his place in the World Cup squad.
