Gareth Bale strikes verbal agreement with Manchester United

Gareth Bale news

Will Gareth Bale be playing for Manchester United next season?

According to a report from Diario Gol, Gareth Bale has decided to join Manchester United this summer on one condition

Gareth Bale has endured a injury-riddled season for Los Blancos, starting only 11 times in La Liga and 15 times in all competitions. Florentino Perez is said to be increasingly frustrated with Bale's fitness levels and lamented his bit part role in Real Madrid's charge towards both the La Liga title and the Champions League crown, scoring only 9 goals in all competitions.

Spanish paper Diario Gol sensationally claimed that Gareth Bale has verbally agreed to a move to Manchester United, on the condition that they qualify for the Champions League next season. Manchester United's chances of a top 4 finish in the league took a massive hit after the 2-0 loss to Arsenal over the weekend. However, Mourinho always seemed to favor the path to the Champions League via the Europa League. Earlier in the season, Mourinho was questioned about the two paths to the Champions League and mentioned that the Europa League is a trophy Manchester United has not won and the UEFA Super Cup would give added prestige to the club. At present, that seems to be the path United is determined to take with players rested for league outings for Europa League matches. Manchester United remain on course to lift the Europa League with their 1-0 away win at Celta Vigo in the semi-finals.

With Gareth Bale turning 28 in the summer, this would be the perfect opportunity for Perez to cash in on Bale and use the money to add to the impressive young squad coming up. The prospect of Antoine Griezmann and Gareth Bale lining up for United would also be a mouth-watering one.
