Liverpool agree terms in principle with EPL defender
Liverpool are reportedly on the front foot to sign Burnley defender Michael Keane ahead of former club Manchester United.
The 24-year-old has been one of the most consistent defenders in the top flight this season, and this has recently seen him being rewarded with the PFA Young Player of the Year award.
According to The Mirror, the Reds have finalised a four-year contract with the former United graduate, but a transfer will only go through depending on their European status.
Keane is keen to ply his trade at a Champions League-based club next season, and they could see him decline a move to Liverpool, should they fail to qualify for the elite competition.
Jurgen Klopp's side currently hold their destiny in their own hands as wins over both West Ham United and Middlesbrough could guarantee their place in next season's Champions League.
Former side United have also been credited with an interest in the central defender, but they will have to first lift the Europa League title in order to open up discussions with Keane.
