West Ham to keep Bilic and sign Manchester City star

Slaven Bilic looks set to keep his job at the London Stadium

West Ham United have struggled to reach their potential this season, but that will not cost manager Slaven Bilic his job according to reports today. The Hammers are also lining up a big move for a Manchester City star who is set to see his contract expire.

Last summer's transfer tactics backfired on West Ham, as they decided to buy a large number of players, as opposed to a lesser amount of high quality players.

Despite struggling in the Premier League at times this season, The Telegraph reports today that Bilic will keep his job at the club, and be given the summer to prove that he can build a squad that can perform much better next season.

Yaya Toure is out of contract with Manchester City this summer, and it is yet to be seen if he will be offered a new deal with the club. Should Toure depart the Etihad, West Ham are looking into signing the Ivory Coast star on a free transfer. The only issue could be whether or not West Ham are willing to match Toure's wage demands, although they may see the high salary as a worthwhile investment for the quality he would bring.

Daniel Sturridge also continues to be linked with a move to West Ham, which would help to give fresh life to his career, whilst showing real intent from West Ham. One current player that they are desperate to keep at the club is Michail Antonio. The winger has impressed regularly at the London Stadium, but wage demands again are what has caused contract talks to stall.
