Rodriguez not topping United summer shortlist

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho does not have Real Madrid attacker James Rodriguez at the top of his shortlist ahead of this summer's transfer window.

The Colombian international has been heavily linked with an Old Trafford move this summer with RCN Radio recently claiming that the deal could be finalised as early as Sunday.

However, according to The Sun, there is a huge twist to the story with Mourinho more focused on bringing the likes of Antoine Griezmann and Bernardo Silva to United.

Atletico Madrid's Griezmann has been often associated with a Red Devils switch over the past year, and the club are willing to trigger his £85m escape clause in order to land his signature.

On the other hand, United are also lining up a bid for Monaco attacker Bernardo Silva, who has played a key role in his club's run to the Ligue 1 title.

Should the Special One fail to land either, or both, of his targets this summer, Rodriguez could make his way back onto the club's radar.

Mourinho had been offered the chance to sign Rodriguez during the last summer transfer window but he opted to snub the advances as he felt the player would not fit his style of play.
