Crystal Palace line up Manchester City pair
With just one game remaining in the Premier League season, managers are preparing their shortlists for the upcoming transfer window. Crystal Palace manager Sam Allardyce is reported to be lining up a move for two Manchester City defenders.
The defence is an area where Allardyce found to be struggling when he took over at the club, which was reflected by their low league position. He saw an improvement in that with the loan signing of Mamadou Sakho from Liverpool, who they are keen to sign on a permanent deal.
In addition to this, The Eagles are monitoring the situation regarding Manchester City full backs Bacary Sagna and Gael Clichy, says The Sun, who are set to see their contracts expire at the end of the season.
Pep Guardiola is yet to announce whether or not he will offer them a new contract, but with a huge squad overhaul expected, it does not look likely. The former Arsenal pair would be no strangers to London, and signing them both on a free would be a real coup for Crystal Palace.
Sam Allardyce secured Crystal Palace's Premier League safety this season, but is looking to push on further up the table next time. Sagna and Clichy would bring great experience to the club, and if they can add Sakho too, they would be well on their way to producing a solid back line.
