Chelsea confident of beating Man United to Bakayoko
Premier League holders are confident of fending off interest from Manchester United in the pursuit of Monaco anchorman Tiemoue Bakayoko.
Antonio Conte's side are hot on the trail of the France international with Foot Mercato recently suggesting that the player will hold a secret meeting with the Blues manager.
In spite of this, United are said to hold a keen interest in the enforcer with Jose Mourinho eager to find a long-term successor to the ever-impressive but ageing Michael Carrick.
According to The Mail, the Blues could pull forward in the race for Bakayoko as they plan to offer Michy Batshuayi in a part exchange deal.
Batshuayi had barely attained Premier League action last term, but he did manage to amass four goals in his last three outings including the league winner at West Bromwich Albion.
Conte is desperate to add a more robust midfielder to his ranks in the summer, and it is understood that Bakayoko has been earmarked as the perfect fit to perform the role alongside N'Golo Kante.
Bakayoko appeared in 51 games for Monaco last season as they clinched the French Ligue 1 title while also reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League.
