Chelsea are reportedly lining up a surprise move for Juventus defender Alex Sandro as they seek to shore up their wing-back options ahead of the new season.

The Blues were dependent on Marcos Alonso to fulfil the left wing-back duties for most of the season, and Conte is now on the search for a recruit, who could potentially compete with the Spaniard.

Sandro, dubbed the new Roberto Carlos, has stabilised his position in the back four under Max Allegri, but he is still capable of playing in the 3-5-2 formation required.

According to The Sun, the west London giants will seek to prise away Sandro following the Champions League final with the player keen to test himself in England's top flight.

Manchester City and Arsenal were said to be the main suitors for Sandro this summer, but it appears that Conte has decided to make the move as he is not entirely convinced with Nathan Ake acting as backup.

Sandro has been part of an Old Lady defence which have conceded just three goals in their European campaign, and Conte is prepared to add him to his ranks ahead of their Champions League adventure next term.
