Borussia Dortmund to sign Mario Balotelli

Mario Balotelli scored seventeen goals for Nice last season

Mario Balotelli has been one of the most controversial figures in football in recent years. Many believe that he has great potential that is just waiting to be released, whilst others think that his attitude is all that he has to offer. After a successful season in France, Balotelli could now be set to join German giants Borussia Dortmund.

After Liverpool failed to get the best out of him, Ligue 1 side Nice signed Balotelli on a free transfer last summer. The Italian international impressed many spectators and managed to score seventeen goals in twenty eight appearances, helping the club to a third place finish in the league.

With his contract with Nice now expired, Balotelli is once again available on a free transfer. His agent, Mino Raiola, has been in Germany this week to discuss a deal, and Bild reports that the 26-year-old will soon be a Borussia Dortmund player.

Dortmund this week hired Peter Bosz as their new manager as a replacement for Thomas Tuchel. Signing Balotelli would be Bosz's first move, as he looks to replace the outward bound Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
