John Terry to Bournemouth deal back on?
When John Terry announced that he would leave Chelsea in order to prolong his playing career, he was linked with a move to Bournemouth almost immediately. Last week, it was reported that Terry was not part of Eddie Howe's summer plans, but now the two parties have met and a deal may be close to being completed.
The Sun reports that Bournemouth and John Terry have held talks about a deal that would see the former England captain earn £100,000 a week with the club. West Bromwich Albion have also been showing interest in the long term Chelsea captain, but it is believed that he would prefer a move to Bournemouth to prevent moving home.
Premier League new boys Brighton and Hove Albion were the latest club to be linked with the centre-back, but his insistence on a £100,000 weekly wage appears to have priced them out of the race.
Bournemouth finished ninth in the Premier League last season, the highest finish in their history. Eddie Howe believes that with some smart summer signings and the experience that John Terry could bring to the backline, along with the goals of Jermaine Defoe, The Cherries could continue to climb the Premier League ladder.
