Alexis Sanchez closing in on Bayern move?
Alexis Sanchez is a big name player that many people expect will be playing his football for a new club on the opening day of next season. A number of big clubs have shown interest in signing the Chilean, but it appears that it is German champions Bayern Munich who are now leading the race to sign him.
Since it was revealed that Arsene Wenger would remain in the dugout at The Emirates, a change in the veteran manager's tactics has been seen. The Frenchman is looking to keep his top players and spend big this summer to create a squad capable of winning the Premier League next season.
This ambition doesn't appear to have been enough to persuade Sanchez to stay at Arsenal, combined with The Gunners' refusal to pay his £300,000 per week wage demands.
Kicker reports that Sanchez's representatives were in Germany recently to discuss a move to Bayern Munich, who would be willing to pay him an annual salary of £21.7 million.
Manchester City have maintained their interest in Alexis Sanchez, but if Arsenal cannot keep hold of him they would much rather sell him to a foreign club than a Premier League rival.
