Chelsea are preparing to make a double signing that would help to add depth to the Premier League champions. It is believed that the Stamford Bridge side are looking into the possibility of signings Juventus defender Alex Sandro and Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez

Antonio Conte had a great debut season with Chelsea, guiding them to the Premier League trophy and an FA Cup final. Unsatisfied with that, the Italian manager now wants to take the club to the next stage and dominate Europe.

With the demands of competing at the highest level in both domestic and European competitions, Conte is aware that he must add depth to his squad, with regular midweek matches to be expected.

Marcos Alonso performed well for Chelsea on the left side of defence last season, but the Chelsea manager wants to bring in Juventus left-back Alex Sandro to add further quality to that position.

The Telegraph reports that Chelsea have already made a £35 million offer for Sandro, but the Italian giants will demand a figure closer to their £45 million valuation.

Leicester City's Riyad Mahrez has officially announced his intentions to leave the Midlands club this summer. Although Chelsea's interest is still in the early stages, they are looking into the prospect of signing the Algerian attacker as back up to the likes of Eden Hazard, Pedro and Willian.

Although Mahrez is looking for a move to a big club such as Chelsea, it is yet to be seen whether he is happy to move to one where he may well be considered a back up option.
