Olivier Giroud linked with Everton move
Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has been linked with a shock move to Everton this summer. Giroud's future at the Emirates Stadium has been called into question as Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger pursues long-term target Alexandre Lacazette.
Everton manager Ronald Koeman could be forced to sell Belgium international striker Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea and according to multiple reports, Koeman wants to use that money to invest in Arsenal striker Giroud as a replacement. Arsenal then intend to spend that money in Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette as their new first choice striker.
Olivier Giroud is very popular at Arsenal but the fans have recently questioned Arsenal manager Wenger's ambition having not made a move for a truly world class striker. Lacazette would certainly represent a top attacking option for Arsenal.
Giroud, who has two years remaining on his deal at the Emirates, would be allowed to leave Arsenal for a fee of around £17.5 million. The French international has also suggested that he would prefer to remain in England, despite having been linked with a move back to Paris St Germain in his homeland.
