Chelsea boss wants Juventus pair

Conte wants to strengthen his team in order to retain the Premier League title

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is keen to sign Juventus duo Alex Sandro and Leonardo Bonucci as he looks to strengthen his team's defence ahead of their attempt to retain the Premier League title.

The Express reports that the Serie A stars were highlighted as players that Conte wanted to sign during talks about his own future last week and the Stamford Bridge club could be set to offer in excess of £100 million to sign them.

Conte is rumoured to have become slightly concerned with Chelsea's lack of transfer activity this summer so far, but this double signing would help to strengthen their back line.

Alex Sandro is the main priority of the two targets and has been told that he can leave the club after helping them to win the Serie A title last season. He is expected to cost around £55 million, a huge increase on the £23 million they paid for him two years ago.

If Chelsea are unable to land the deal for Leonardo Bonucci they are likely to turn their attention again to Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk. The Saints are desperate to keep hold of the Dutch defender, but the right offer may persuade them to sell.
