Arsene Wenger provides update on Welbeck injury
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has revealed that he is unsure of the severity of Danny Welbeck's injury during the Gunners' 0-0 draw against Chelsea on Sunday afternoon.
The former Manchester United ace came off in the 73rd minute of the London derby following a collision with defender David Luiz, who was sent off later on in the game.
Speaking after the clash, Wenger confirmed that the Englishman has suffered a groin injury, and will face further medical assessment to find out the extent of the injury.
"I don't know how severe it is. It looks like it is a 'good' groin problem. Not an easy one," he told the Evening Standard.
Welbeck has been in good form for the Gunners since the start of the campaign with three goals in five league appearances. He has suffered multiple knee injuries with the north London club in the past, and Wenger will hope to have the striker back at the earliest possibility.
